Marketing Summer Student

Our Marketing team has a temporary opening for a Marketing Student - Influencer/Community Marketing for a 16 week summer employment term from May - August 2018. This is a great opportunity to get some marketing experience!


Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Influencer/Community Marketing Student will be responsible for completing 2 projects as well as providing support to the Marketing team. Specific responsibilities include:

1. Develop and implement a Digital Influencer Program:

  • formalize a program for digital influencers associated with the We-Vibe brand
  • create criteria and guidelines for brand influencers
  • research and recruit potential Influencers
  • negotiate terms of engagement with each Influencer, including KPIs/metrics
  • administer the Program and monitor results to evaluate its effectiveness;
  • report on Program results 
  • ensure compliance with Advertising Standards Canada and US FTC guidelines and regulations

2. Establish a Consumer Review/Community Engagement Program:

  • establish a Consumer Review Program to promote product reviews across third-party websites
  • identify and contact potential product review candidates
  • administer the program including program set up, shipping products, coordinating and monitoring  reviews, return of product or purchase etc
  • ensure compliance with Advertising Standards Canada and US FTC guidelines and regulations

3. Provide support as required to the marketing team


  • Completion of at least 2 years of a post-secondary degree/diploma program in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Journalism; specialization in marketing, digital marketing or social marketing
  • Passion for social media/community engagement  with strong working knowledge of all social media platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to communicate internally and externally with influencers and consumers; experience writing for web/online
  • Strong research skills
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented, with strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • A self-motivated team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to work well independently
  • Some knowledge of regulations related to social marketing, influencer marketing and consumer programs is an asset
  • Proficient with Google Apps (mail, calendar, drive, sheets, docs, forms etc), Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), all relevant social media platforms
  • This position is being advertised under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative. To be eligible for this position, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age on the start date of the job. You also must have been a full-time student during the previous academic year and be intending to return to full-time studies in the next academic year. You also must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. You must also be legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
